IRISH EYES dropped in the water today
In just a few fast approaching weeks we begin our “Great Loop” trip.
According to NOAA, “the Great Loop is a continuous waterway that recreational mariners can travel that includes part of the Atlantic, Gulf Intracoastal Waterways, the Great Lakes, Canadian Heritage Canals, and the inland rivers of America’s heartland. Anyone who completes the journey is then named an official ‘Looper. ‘”
The classic loop is done in a year. However, many people, and our intention was to do it over 3+/- months over several years. The first section for us would have taken us into Canada. Because Covid has closed the borders, this year we will enjoy a shortened, more relaxed (hopefully) 6 week cruise up the Hudson River, through the NY canals and into Lake Champlain for this summer. We will however bring our passports with us, just in case! We can’t wait to start.

Hi Pat and Jim – love this!! Can’t wait to follow along with your adventure. Safe travels and keep in touch!!
