This morning at 8am we left our slip at Sanzari Marina in Bay Head, NJ where we have spent the last 15 summers. It is the most well cared for, beautiful marina from the Crisfields MD to Cape Cod (the length of what we have traveled to date). In addition to the quality of the grounds, the owner, dock master and dock mates have all been wonderful people. We are having a bit of melancholy about leaving I think.
We had sunny skies and 3′ seas which make for a good travel day, but some pretty significant wind 10-15mph with gusts to 20. We were surprisingly cold. Right off the coast of Spring Lake we had the first of several traveling companions…

NY harbor was as busy as we have ever seen it, and we have been through here a good dozen times. In addition, this is when the wind really picked up.
(corny ?, but you really can’t help it when you see this)
Just before 2:00 we pulled in to our slip in Half Moon Bay Marina, Croton on Hudson. Helping us pull in, in addition to the dock master, were two fellow loopers. Very nice welcoming committee for our first day!

You’re much braver than I am! To navigate N.Y. Harbor must be amazing and scary. Glad you’re safely docked.
