Up the Creek… with a paddle (& an engine)

Not much further up the Hudson, we spent today at Roundout Creek. What made us choose this stop is that we wanted a night on anchor and this fit the bill. Staying at a marina is like being in a hotel while on anchor is a bit more like camping, but better.

While on anchor we launched the dinghy and visited the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston. Although there was some interesting Hudson River history, it was surprisingly political and we were quite disappointed. Later we explored the small waterfalls at the end of the creek which was a treat. Swam off Irish Eyes and had a bbq using our grill, so nice when systems work, which is always a surprise on a boat. Lovely nature day and a good change up from all the action of the last three days.
