Here dinghy, dinghy…

Jim and I woke up around 6a while here on anchor. Jim says he is going to dink in to shore to use the bath house facilities while Katie and Brian are still sleeping. He heads out as I stay in bed looking at email. A minute later he comes back in wild eyed, the dinghy is gone! I come up, in pj’s and we scan this vast Bay -wider than the Barnegat- using binoculars. The dinghy could be on shore, have drifted out to Lake Champlain, who knows where. Jim spots a small boat , checking with binoculars, about a half mile a way it does appear to be the size of our dinghy and no one is on it, in the middle of the bay. So we wake up Katie and Brian, release Irish Eyes from the mooring and slowly putter out to it. Brian climbs aboard the dinghy and drives it back toward the mooring as Katie and I re-attach the mooring. Just another peaceful morning of boat life.

Since we were up we made scrambled eggs and got ready for the day. We ubered to Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain for a little hike.

Straight from the hike we went to the municipal golf course in Willsboro Bay where we played 9 holes for $10pp, plus $5 for club rentals for Katie & Brian. The course was quite decent, although we did lose a number of balls, and we encountered several friendly people.

Back to Irish Eyes for lunch and naps. Then these crazy people decided they want to swim across the bay. It is very cold water! and far! I accompanied them in the dinghy as the chase crew. They all climbed into the dinghy for a ride back although they had originally been thinking they might swim the whole thing. I was too worried about them to take any pictures.

After everyone warmed up we had cocktail hour, grilled burgers, and later played bridge. Brian has been very patient in teaching us this elaborate game each time we get together and it seems to be starting to sink in.
