Malletts Bay, Family Time

Malletts Bay is also on the Inland Sea which I posted a map of last time. We are staying on the most inland part of Malletts Bay, and still it is huge. We have seen more boats here than any other place we have been on the Lake.

Kelly, Dennis and our beautiful grandchildren met us here to stay in a rental cottage for the week. What blessings they all are! Cool and drizzly weather continues but we made the best of it and visited the museum of Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley, who documented thousands of snowflakes through his microscopic photos. We hiked the Colchester Causeway, fished and had a good time.

The grandkids ages, 6, 7 and 9 quickly learned to kayak and paddleboard. SO impressive!! Another morning we drove up to the Shrine of St. Anne, did more water sports, and the kids had a sleepover on Irish Eyes. The boat has served as a good ‘swim dock’ off of the house. It is far enough for the kids to feel it is an adventure to paddle out to us and yet they would always be within swimming distance of the boat or land. Jim and I get to enjoy some quiet time on the boat and still spend a lot of time with them.

  2. You’ve had lots of visitors with you on your travels. So nice that Kelly and family found a house near you too.
